FORT LAWN, S.C. (WBTV) - A dead body was found in the Catawba River in South Carolina on Wednesday.

The body was found at the Chester-Lancaster County line near the Highway 9 bridge on Aug. 6.

The said it worked with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the Chester County Swiftwater Rescue Team to get the body out of the water.

Officials have not said if the person was a man or woman, nor how old they might have been.

It is unclear how the person got in the river or if foul play is suspected.

No other information was immediately available.
