FORT MILL, S.C. (WBTV) - Fort Mill Schools had an official recommendation to improve their health, safety and emergency plans in place for its schools.

There have been concerns about the proximity of the Silfab Solar facility to the district’s new elementary and middle school site.

Flint Hill Elementary school wrapped up its first week of classes. WBTV was there when the school first opened its doors.

“Our biggest goal is the learning and the safety of the students in this building and that’s my focus,” said school principal Michelle Gritz.

After prolonged concerns about how close the school is to Silfab Solar the district had officially received recommendations for plans on health, safety and emergency planning from Citadel EHS .
