HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A middle school student within Huntsville City Schools has died after he was hit by a vehicle, according to school officials.

HCS stated that an eighth-grade student at Mountain Gap Middle, Kallel Fox, was hit while riding his bike in the Bailey Cove Road and Green Mountain Road area Tuesday afternoon.

The Huntsville Police Department stated the 13-year-old boy was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle around 3:30 p.m. in the intersection of Bailey Cove Road and Green Mountain Road. His injuries were considered life-threatening, and he was transported to the hospital for treatment died.

According to the HPD, the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was not injured. A member of its traffic homicide unit responded to investigate the crash. H
