OMAHA, Neb. —

Former Nebraska volleyball head coach John Cook will begin a new chapter in the sport.

He is now the general manager and co-owner of the Omaha Supernovas. This comes as the professional volleyball team makes a move to Major League Volleyball.

“After more than 30 years of coaching, I knew I wanted the next chapter to be just as impactful, and becoming the general manager of the Omaha Supernovas is exactly that opportunity," said Cook.

Cook retired from Nebraska earlier in 2025 after 25 years. Dani Busboom Kelly took over for him as head coach.
