Officials have publicly identified a man who was fatally shot last weekend in the Gaslamp District.

Patrol officers responding to reports of gunfire at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday found Antwan Bluthenthal, 46, mortally wounded in a third-floor hallway of a building at 701 Sixth Ave., according to the San Diego Police Department . • 6th Avenue

Bluthenthal died at the scene, SDPD Lt. Lou Maggi said.

When police arrived at the address, several people were on a sidewalk detaining 37-year-old Bryan Tyner, whom they identified as the shooter, and they directed officers to a handgun they reportedly had taken from him.

Tyner was arrested on suspicion of murder.
