City is now a registered bidder for upcoming state land auction
Peoria City Council has approved a policy amendment that will allow the city manager, or representative, to purchase state trust land.
Additionally, the city has registered to bid on a Peoria trust land parcel up for auction later this month.
City officials say council granted purchase authority to the city manager through prior approval of the fiscal year 2026 budget and capital improvement program, and that amended policy language will provide the city signing authority should Peoria be the successful bidder at future land auctions.
City Manager Henry Darwin said this is the reason the city felt the need to change the policy.
