TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — On Aug. 6, Idaho Fish and Game responded to a call that a moose had been hit by a car on Washington Street near Park Avenue. Unfortunately, the moose was euthanized due to its injuries.
A local business helped remove the moose from the road, and it was salvaged.
Salvage of certain game killed by a vehicle accident is allowed by Idaho law, but Fish and Game must be informed within 24 hours to receive a salvage permit to do so legally.
Call local authorities or call 911 if an animal is hit and injured and move vehicles to the side of the road.
