TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG) reports that a cow moose had to be euthanized due to injuries sustained in a traffic collision.
A vehicle hit the moose on Wednesday morning, and IDFG said they responded to the scene. The incident occurred south of Twin Falls, on Washington Street near Park Avenue.
The community came together following the incident, with a local worker using a crane truck to help move the moose, and it "was salvaged."
IDFG reminds drivers that collisions with wildlife can be dangerous for all involved. IDFG provided a few tips on how to stay safe on the roads:
Be extra cautious during dawn, dusk, and nighttime hours when big game animals are most active.
Keep your eyes on the road and scan for movement, especially along the roadside.
