Western North Carolina residents who own private roads or bridges damaged or destroyed by Tropical Storm Helene have until Aug. 31 to submit project interest forms to the state for repair and replacement, North Carolina Emergency Management announced in an Aug. 1 news release.
“Western North Carolinians rely on private roads and bridges to access their communities and emergency services,” N.C. Emergency Management Director Will Ray said in the statement.
“Repairing these roads and bridges is critical for public safety and for the rebuilding efforts in Western North Carolina, and we want to ensure resources are allocated quickly and to the highest-priority sites.”
