DALLAS — The City of Dallas paused its diversity and inclusion programs — including those that impact city contracts — over the summer in an effort to comply with President Trump's executive orders that banned DEI , city staff told Council members on Wednesday.
The suspended programs include the city's minority and women-owned business contracting criteria, its racial equity plan, and its equity impact assessment tool, according to a city presentation.
City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert said every city department was asked to immediately stop any programs and policies that advance diversity or use race, gender, ethnicity, religion or national origin as criteria for benefits, the presentation said.
"We find ourselves at a crossroads requiring responsibility and resolve," said Tolbert
