BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Try out this simple, kid-friendly recipe for a Rootie Fruitie Sorbet that the whole family can enjoy during the back-to-school season.

Ingredients: • 1/2 cup carrots • 1/2 cup beets • 1 cup strawberries, frozen, unsweetened • 3/4 cup coconut milk, canned • 1/4 orange juice, raw • 2 Tbsp honey

Instructions: • Thoroughly wash your carrots and beets. • Rough chop into small pieces. • Place in a bowl and have ready to go. • In a large blender cup, add frozen strawberries, washed and chopped root veggies, coconut milk, the juice of one orange or 1/4 cup of 100% bottled juice and honey. • Pulse blend a few times to help crush the roots and fruit. • Continue blending until you have a thick smoothie consistency. • Place in a bowl, cover and
