CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) -- Drivers who do not stop at stop signs and red lights will be targeted by law enforcement during the high visibility Target Red enforcement mobilization.

According to a press release from the West Virginia Governor’s Highway Safety Program, from August 1, 2025 through August 15, 2025, members of law enforcement will be keeping an eye out for drivers who do not stop at stop signs and red lights during the high visibility Target Red enforcement mobilization.

Nationally, drivers' running a red light is a serious and extremely dangerous problem; locally, it is no different. Yellow traffic lights caution motorists that the red light is about to appear and does not mean to ‘go fast.’
