CHERRY VALLEY, Ill. (WTVO) — Cherry Valley Elementary School hosted its 6th Annual Mobile Block Party, providing students and their families with resources to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The event featured a variety of community organizations, including Rosecrance and Rockford Fire, which were present to support students and their families. Kona Ice delighted children with free slushies, while City First Church and Amazon donated backpacks filled with school supplies.

"It's super important to provide the resources for the families because, you know, times are tough and we want every student to be prepared for school," said Carolyn Timm, principal of Cherry Valley Elementary School. "This is a way to partner with our parents and families also."
