The Helena Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting bids from local businesses for new signage to improve the city’s traffic flow, support local businesses and improve the community's brand.
The bids are due 5 p.m. Aug. 15.
Responses must show a detailed plan, known as a request for proposal, to implement a technologically advanced wayfinding system that fits contemporary needs. Wayfinding systems help guide people from place to place.
This new signage will contribute to improving the downtown Helena area. The Helena Area Chamber of Commerce sees a need to make downtown more accessible due to its tourist attractions and local businesses.
Another part of town that needs signage improvement is the Montana Heritage Center, now under construction by the Capitol.
“Back in 2019 when the bill p
