Construction of a $30 million employee housing development at Yellowstone National Park's Old Faithful area began in July with completion scheduled for spring 2027.
Although the three-story building featuring 90 double-occupancy rooms (180 staff beds) is being built by park concessionaire Xanterra Travel Collection, the facility will be owned by the National Park Service.
“These are not buildings we own,” said Matt Davey, director of engineering at Xanterra, in a statement. “These are National Park Service facilities, and by extension, they belong to the public.”
