FLATHEAD COUNTY, Mont. — A mid-air collision between two skydivers during the annual Lost Prairie Boogie resulted in one death Monday morning, according to the Flathead County Sheriff's Office (FCSO).

According to FCSO, the incident occurred at approximately 9:42 a.m. on August 4, 2025, during a jump over the Lost Prairie area, authorities said. Marion Fire Department personnel, who were pre-staged at Meadow Peak Skydiving for the event, reported the collision and immediately responded.

One skydiver successfully deployed their parachute and landed safely, according to the Sheriff's Office. The second skydiver's reserve parachute deployed automatically, but despite lifesaving efforts by on-site emergency personnel, the skydiver was pronounced dead at the scene.
