BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - An update on the legal battle between the city of Binghamton and the owners of the Binghamton Plaza.
Mayor Jared Kraham announced this morning that the plaza owners, the Galisis, are on the clock. They have 90 days to accept, negotiate, or decline the city's offer of one point 55 million dollars.
Broome County filed a lien against the owners of the plaza for failure to pay property taxes. Kraham says this is not the first time this has happened and that it is just the latest example of an out of town, deadbeat landlord who doesn't care about the Northside.
Kraham says current businesses in the plaza would not have to leave immediately.
