TOWN OF DICKINSON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - SUNY Broome held a back-to-school event for adult learners and their families today.

This year, the college announced that they were taking part in the New York State free community college initiative where students ages 25 to 55 are provided an opportunity to further their education free of charge.

The event offered free food from the Kitchen Counter, ice cream from Here's the Twist, and entertainment for all ages with the chance to learn more about the free program. President Tony Hawkins says he is proud that the college can produce new graduates ready for careers that are in demand.
