City Councilor Amanda Chavez has filed a new lawsuit accusing Santa Fe Public Schools of conducting an inadequate investigation earlier this year into her allegations of sexual harassment by a former superintendent.
The district also perpetuated an environment rife with harassment and offered her a settlement deal that came with a gag order after substantiating her claims, the complaint alleges.
Chavez, a former assistant principal at Santa Fe High School, also names then-Superintendent Hilario “Larry” Chavez as a defendant, alleging he not only harassed her but also retaliated against her, blocking her career advancement, when she rebuffed his sexual advances.
