FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — Going out to lunch will soon be much easier in Franklin, courtesy of a new transit option.

The city's new bus plan will take people to a popular lunch spot, thanks to a new route expected to start in September.

The route will run from the downtown Franklin transit center to The Factory at Franklin—and all for free.

According to city officials, the idea was originally borne of a desire to offer city employees access to restaurants when the new city hall opens.

Workers won't have the same walkable options as they did in the old location, but they will be right next to the transit station.

The Franklin Transit Authority liked the idea, but also opened up the availability to the general public.
