HIGH POINT, N.C. — The man accused of driving while impaired in a hit-and-run crash that left a six-year-old dead and several other children and one adult injured is facing additional charges related to the incident.

Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Skeet Club Road and Braddock Road on July 2 around 9 p.m. Police say witnesses were administering CPR to the 6-year-old child until officers arrived. All four of the children in the car and the adult driver were taken to a local hospital after suffering serious injuries.

The six-year-old died from their injuries a week after the crash.
