SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) - A man was arrested Tuesday evening after reportedly luring a child away from her home in Salem, according to Salem Police.

Just after 5 p.m. Tuesday, the parents of an 11-year-old girl reported she was missing from their home near Lansing and Kathleen Avenue Northeast.

Police canvassed the area, a police bloodhound was deployed, and the area was searched for possible surveillance video.

At about 8:30 p.m., police canvassing on foot near Evergreen and Chester Avenue Northeast were waved down by a neighbor who reported some suspicious activity nearby.

The neighbor had learned about the missing child earlier in the evening and took a walk through the neighborhood to help in the search.
