MICHIGAN CITY — Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting that took place early Sunday outside Matey’s Bar and Restaurant that left 25-year-old LaPorte man Dante Sellers dead.

Cevin Crawford, 27, of Michigan City, was arrested on probable cause for murder by the LaPorte County Drug Task Force on Tuesday after being spotted inside a vehicle at a gas station. Crawford was formally charged Wednesday with murder. An investigation led police to identify him as the person suspected of shooting Sellers following an argument between the two of them.

Officers responded Sunday at approximately 2:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire and fighting at the popular restaurant and bar near the city's lakefront and zoo, where they found Sellers with a gunshot wound.
