UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) -- Six years after first proposing a significant expansion, Lenox Hill Hospital on Wednesday presented a new, scaled-down version of its expansion plans.

The new proposal was approved by a City Council committee, in another major milestone for the expansion project, but some residents who live near the facility that's on course to more than double in size feel that the scaled-down changes are by no means scaled down enough.

Stephanie Reckler, 81, a lifelong resident of the Lenox Hill neighborhood on the Upper East Side, said that the proposal made by the hospital's parent company, Northwell Health, could prove unhealthful for its neighbors, like her.
