Erie, Pa (WJET/WFXP)-- The Erie County District Attorney is investigating a potential raffle rigging at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Millcreek Township, where Father Ross Miceli is suspected of announcing a fake winner for the church's annual Corvette fundraiser.

The church's fundraiser involved selling raffle tickets at $50 each, offering smaller prizes and a grand prize of a new Corvette or a $50,000 cash alternative. However, suspicions arose when Father Miceli announced a non-existent winner, Martin Anderson, from Detroit, Michigan, on Christmas Day 2024.

A statement from the Diocese of Erie reads in part: 'The Diocese of Erie contacted the appropriate authorities and continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.'
