COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — It’s a matter of getting from point A to point B. With the Columbus Airport closed for commercial and military operations for the next three months, folks are having to find other options.
One shuttle service which operates in Columbus and Fort Benning says it’s preparing for an influx of passengers looking for transportation to the Atlanta airport.
An employee with Groome Transportation told WRBL over the phone that she expects business to “pick up tremendously.”
Groome regularly transports travelers to the Atlanta airport, with about 45 trips a day. Each shuttle holds 13 passengers, but with an expected increase of 100 to 150 riders per day, the service says they may add additional vans for certain pick-up times, depending on bookings.
