GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The State Bureau of Investigations is looking into what led to a fatal officer-involved shooting.

It happened just after 4 o'clock on Wednesday, on Marion Street in Greensboro.

A call for trespassing quickly turned dangerous after someone stopped an officer and pointed them in the direction of a suspected trespasser. When the officer approached, police say things took a turn.

According to neighbors, the neighborhood is typically quiet, so when they heard yelling down the street, it caught their attention. Neighbors say they recognize the man involved; they’ve seen him around for months.
