GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- The Greensboro Science Center is mourning the loss of Miso the red panda.

She joined the science center in 2023 and died on Thursday.

"Miso’s veterinary and animal care teams have continuously worked to improve her health and quality of life. Unfortunately, Miso’s illness progressed despite these efforts. Yesterday, following a significant decline, our team had to make the difficult but compassionate decision to assist in her peaceful passing," GCS said in a statement released on social media.

GCS shared the following statement on Friday:

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Miso, our Himalayan red panda.
