BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A woman accused of abducting her 2-year-old daughter appeared in court Wednesday.

Karen Julizabeth Hernandez, 32, had not guilty pleas entered on her behalf to charges of child stealing and vehicle theft. She's due back in court Aug. 18.

Bail was set at $50,000.

Police on Monday afternoon were told Hernandez abducted the girl and stole a vehicle during a supervised visit. An emergency alert was issued, and the two were found that night and Hernandez was booked into jail.
