BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Prosecutors were continuing to review the investigation into the shooting that killed a 15-year-old boy at The Marketplace, a District Attorney's Office spokesperson said Friday.
A decision on whether to file charges hadn't been made.
Sunday marks nine months since Prince Michael Banner was fatally shot at the southwest Bakersfield shopping center.
The shooter, identified by police as Albert Briseno Jr., turned himself in two days later but was released after prosecutors requested further investigation. Police performed more work and resubmitted reports.
Police Chief Greg Terry has said investigators, shortly after the shooting, received information that Banner and Briseno "had some sort of a history or connection or knew each other prior to that night."
