SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - We’re less than three weeks from a special election to fill the term of the late State Sen. Rocky De Witt, who died in June after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

On Wednesday, Aug. 6, KTIV interviewed the Democratic Candidate Catelin Drey. The 38-year-old Drey is the founder of the grassroots initiative “Moms for Iowa.”

KTIV’s Matt Breen asked her the following questions during an interview on Signal Hill:

Why do you believe you are the best person to represent the people of District 1 in the Iowa Senate?

What will be your top priority if you’re elected?

Republicans hold a majority in the Iowa Senate and the Iowa House, but what does it say to you that in 2025, in two of three special elections for seats in the Iowa Legislature, that Democrats won those seats?
