PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Two women have been identified and indicted after police say they used sleight of hand tricks to steal a $3,400 gold coin from a Portland business.

Portland Police said FOX 12’s reporting on the case led to news tips and the identification and indictment of the suspects, as well as informing police of a related case in Lynwood, Wash., which led to the women’s identification.

The gold coin worth thousands of dollars was stolen from a Southeast Portland coin shop, according to the owner, who said the thieves managed to steal it while posing as customers.

The $3,400 theft was caught on camera by Portland Precious Metals.
