CADDO PARISH (KTAL/KMSS) – Congratulations is in order.

For the very first time Caddo parish held a graduation ceremony for the newest members of the Citizens Academy.

Throughout this program, 14 students were able to understand what really goes on in law enforcement and ways the average citizen can help the community.

Bridgette Salsberry said "the Citizens Academy is a great way to learn about this city and things that you can do to make a difference."

Being a part of the program allows participants the opportunity to see what really happens behind the scenes.

She continues "This academy absolutely demystified all the things we thought or anyone could think that happens in the inner workings as well as the outer workings of the sheriff's department."
