The Anchorage School District is rolling out the welcome mat for its newest group of teachers as the new school year approaches.
This week, the district has been hosting a new educator symposium at Begich Middle School to help 220 new hires prepare for the classroom.
The event includes sessions on everything from classroom technology and management to strategies for supporting diverse learners. The training is tailored based on feedback from former first-year teachers, aiming to better reflect the realities of the classroom.
