WASHINGTON — Accused of slashing another man with a machete, an 81-year-old was arrested in Columbia Heights, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The 81-year-old suspect, Julian Bueno, allegedly targeted a vendor who had been selling merchandise from a table, after arguing with the man about returning an item.
The attack happened along the 3100 block 14th Street at around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, according to MPD. The location, across from the Columbia Heights Metro station and just outside a shopping center, is a popular spot for street vendors.
Although the victim reportedly refused medical treatment, DC Fire and EMS said he was "suffering from lacerations" on Tuesday.
Julian Bueno was identified by MPD as the suspect in the stabbing. The older man was charged with assault
