STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters made significant progress Tuesday on the Castle Rock Fire burning 2 miles east of Arden, bringing the lightning-caused blaze to 30% containment.
According to DNR the Castle Rock Fire has burned 58 acres on Castle Rock Mountain after lightning ignited the blaze, which quickly advanced northwest through thick vegetation and rugged terrain.
A small night crew will patrol the fire line overnight, looking for hot spots using thermal imaging technology.
Crews remain actively engaged with resource needs expected to decrease by the end of the week.
No evacuations or closures are in effect at this time.
