The shooting death of Marchello Woodard by a state parole agent last month has caught the attention of a nationally renowned civil rights attorney.
Ben Crump is expected to be in Erie Wednesday with the Woodard family as they continue to demand justice and transparency.
Woodard was shot on July 2nd when state police said he started to drive away from two parole agents, allegedly dragging one of the agents with his car.
Woodard's family and Attorney Crump will be holding a press conference Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 at the Second Baptist Church on East 26th Street.
They're expected to demand an independent investigation into what they said was an avoidable use of deadly force.
