GRAHAM, Wash. — Dozens of cats are now being treated and cared for at the Tacoma Humane Society as a result of a search warrant by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office seized the 82 cats from a trailer in Graham on Tuesday morning.

“The property owner had provided information that there were approximately 40 cats in this trailer, which was causing concern to the neighbors. They reported it to animal control,” said Deputy Carly Cappetto, public information officer for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

Cappetto said she did not think the owners had bad intentions and that it is too early to say if charges will be filed.
