Over a dozen people have been displaced after a dumpster fire spread to two nearby homes in New Haven Wednesday night.

The fire department said they responded to Davenport Avenue around 7:05 p.m.

Responding crews said two homes were on fire, one of which was under construction.

The incident started out as a dumpster fire and spread to two homes next door.

The fire was under control within an hour, and the cause is under investigation.

Officials said 19 people were displaced, and no injuries were reported.
