WASHINGTON, D.C. (WENY) -- Apple Inc. and Corning Inc. on Wednesday announced a new $2.5 billion partnership for domestic iPhone and Apple Watch cover glass production.

For the first time, 100 percent of the cover glass used in Apple's flagship products will be made in the domestically by Corning's manufacturing facility in Kentucky. The companies also announced the opening of a new Apple-Corning Innovation Center at the Harrodsburg site.
