ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - In 2024, there have been more than 3,000 flash flood warnings, which is the most since the alert system was created.

According to Triple A, some flooded vehicles are starting to hit the resale market.

Those cars may have a nice price tag on them, but the unseen damage may cost you so much more.

“Including down into the bumper for some of the sensors for lane protection technology as well as crash avoidance technology,” AAA Mid/Atlantic Spokesperson Morgan Dean said.

“Water inside of those systems can be very very bad. It shorts them out, it starts to corrode them, the technology doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do and it stops working.”
