DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A free Duluth shopping spree was held at Maurices for a group of women who’ve survived cancer battles.

Wednesday, Maurices in Duluth teamed up with the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA) to host the third annual Ovarian Cancer Survivor Social & Shop Event.

It was held inside Maurices headquarters building downtown. Survivors got to shop the clothing company’s sample room, free of charge.

Organizers say the event is a great way for survivors to treat themselves and connect with others who’ve had similar journeys.

“It’s not doctor’s appointments, it’s not treatment, it’s not a cat scan, it’s a wonderful time together, we just love it as a survivor myself, it means a lot to me to gather together with other survivors,” said Kristine Greer, MOCA Boa
