United Airlines is experiencing a "technology disruption" on Wednesday night, the carrier told Newsweek via email.
It halted flights out of departure airports, CNN reported. The issue "has been resolved" but the airline expects "residual delays," United said.
The New York Times reports that United had full stops at its hub locations in Newark, New Jersey; Chicago; Denver; Houston and San Francisco, citing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The FAA's website also notes that the ground stop was still live in Denver and Newark at 10:28 p.m. ET and will be in effect until 11 p.m.
According to Flight Aware's Misery Map , Chicago's O'Hare International Airport had four cancellations and 68 delays as of 11:16 p.m. ET. Denver had two cancellations and 108 delays.
