WHITESTOWN, IN (Dakota News Now) -It looked like the South Dakota team would roll into the championship game Friday with Maxen Snoozy on the mound and 2 runs on the board after their first at-bat.

But the North Dakota team from Fargo responded thanks to a bases loaded single scoring two runs from their pitcher Jack Dahlmen to take the lead and they increased it to 5-2 with one more chance for the Sioux Falls team.

Devin Aukes, who tripled home a run in the 1st inning, slammed an RBI single with the bases loaded and no outs. They then got a sac fly from Kenson Henderson to close the gap to 5-4. But that’s where the rally ended.

Sioux Falls will play Nebraska at noon Thursday for the right to play North Dakota on Friday in a game where the winner advances to the Little League World Series
