PADUCAH – The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday it had served a criminal summons for first-degree criminal mischief to a Calvert City man believed to be responsible for a “sparkler bomb” that injured two construction workers in June.

According to MCSO, deputies responded to a construction site at Lone Oak First Baptist Church at approximately 12:42 p.m. Monday, June 16, after Paducah 911 received calls reporting an explosion and injuries to at least two people. Upon arriving, deputies, along with personnel from Lone Oak Fire Department and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service, quickly administered life-saving treatment to two males who had been injured, MCSO said.
