The bingo manager at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles club in Roswell has been charged with embezzlement after over $3,000 of the money he was responsible for overseeing went missing.

Kenneth Mark Roberts, 59, of Dexter, was served with an arrest warrant Monday on one felony count of embezzlement of more than $2,500 but not more than $20,000, according to electronic court records. Roberts was subsequently booked at the Chaves County Detention Center (CCDC) at 8:20 p.m., according to a jail population summary report from the facility.

On Wednesday, Chaves County Magistrate Judge K.C. Rogers ordered Roberts released on his own recognizance while he awaits trial on the embezzlement charge. No attorney representing Roberts was listed in court records. A criminal complaint, filed in Chaves C
