ATHENS, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Athens Police department is currently investigating a shooting that happened at approximately 7:00 P.M. Wednesday on Tell Street.

“With sensitivity to this case, details are currently limited,” according to the Athens Police Department.

Tennessee Highway Patrol and the McMinn County Sheriff’s Department is assisting with the investigation.

News 12 will provide an update once more information is released on Thursday morning.
