President Donald Trump’s administration is looking to impose additional costs for international tourists entering the United States, first pushing a “visa integrity fee” and then establishing a visa bond program Tuesday.
The changes come amid a tough year for global tourism to the United States. The decline has been more pronounced in Las Vegas, with the number of international trips going through Harry Reid International Airport down by 9.8% in June compared with 2024.
The $250 integrity fee came out of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” signed into law July 4, though when the policy will be instituted is still unclear. Still, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, which tends to stay out of politics, slammed the new charge.
