The East Providence School Department will seek the 4% maximum allowable increase from the city to help balance their FY26 budget, which amounts to $103,504,802 as of its most recent preliminary draft.
That represents a $4.1 million total increase over FY25’s budget, which was finalized at $99,396,962.
The confirmation of the numbers came during the second budget workshop held by the East Providence School Committee on Tuesday, Aug. 5, held from within a cavernously empty high school auditorium that was devoid of attendees save for those on the committee, district employees, and two representatives from the city administration.
