CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The jury trial for a 34-year-old Cleveland man accused of killing one woman and seriously injuring her sister while driving under the influence, began Tuesday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.
Juan Soto was indicted on the charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs for the April 2024 crash on the city’s West side.
Cleveland Police said Soto crashed into another car at the intersection of Clark Avenue and Fulton Road.
The impact of the crash pushed the vehicles into a nearby Rally’s restaurant, catching it on fire.
Gilmarie Quinones died from her injuries.
Her sister, Hillary Pineiro, was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries, according to family memb
